Nationally Syndicated ‘Women Of iHeartCountry’ Set For Labor Day Weekend Debut

iHEARTMEDIA and its nationally syndicated flagship personality, PREMIERE’s BOBBY BONES, are set to kick off “WOMEN OF iHEARTCOUNTRY,” an hour-long regularly-scheduled weekend show devoted exclusively to female artists. BONES first hinted about the show in JUNE, telling the TENNESSEAN, “I’ll be really obnoxious about it and just cram it down the radio station … People aren’t embracing things, and they are embracing other things too fast … It’s important for fairness. I want everybody to have an equal shot.” BONES will serve as Executive Producer and will co-host with AMY BROWN, a regular cast member on his nationally syndicated “THE BOBBY BONES SHOW.” The new weekend show will feature established and new female artists, with weekly guest appearances from iHEARTMEDIA female air personalities. The show launches with a formidable affiliate list, boasting 125 stations for the debut weekend.

“BOBBY has changed our format for the better in so many ways,” said MERCURY NASHVILLE artist LAUREN ALAINA. “He has been a champion for so many people who really need someone in their corner. I am so thankful to be one of those people. I am so excited for his ‘WOMEN OF iHEARTCOUNTRY’ show. There are so many amazingly talented women in our format that are going to be able to shine their light a little brighter because he believes in them. I am so proud to be a part of his new show, and I’m even more proud to be his friend. He’s a really special guy.” Added iHEARTCOUNTRY SVP/Programming & Brand Mgr. ROD PHILLIPS, “This weekend show is another example of iHEARTCOUNTRY stations and program directors providing platforms that support female artists and voices. ‘WOMEN OF iHEARTCOUNTRY’ is an extension of efforts like our On The Verge program, where we have shined a spotlight on artists such as CAM, CARLY PEARCE, MAREN MORRIS, and LAUREN ALAINA as future stars in the Country format.”

This weekend’s launch comes on the heels of an expanded role for BONES with iHEARTMEDIA. Last month, he was elevated to VP/Creative Dir. for iHEARTCOUNTRY.
