Mike Kuster “Frog Eye Mud Bog”
Celebrate Summer and Freedom with Mike Kuster’s “Frog Eye Mud Bog”
Mud’s flinging everywhere as Mike Kuster releases his celebration of summer and freedom, “Frog Eye Mud Bog”, from sophomore album, Country So Fresh You Have To Check Your Boots.
The single continues Mike’s theme of celebrating those small town and rural traditions. Like his previous releases, “Frog Eye Mud Bog” brings the beloved mud bog races to life.
Reflecting on his inspiration, Kuster remarks, “I always loved the name of Frog Eye Road and the Frog Eye Mud Bog is about as country as I can imagine.”
Penned by Kuster himself, “Frog Eye Mud Bog” features his distinctive vocals accompanied by a cadre of accomplished studio musicians meticulously curated by Kuster and his producer, Daniel “Dr.” Ford. Noteworthy contributors include Grammy and IBMA Award-winning fiddler Michael Cleveland, acclaimed guitarist Chris Condon, known for his collaborations with Billy Ray Cyrus, and bassist Caleb Mundy, a fixture on Music Row. Dr. Ford lends his talents on drums and keyboards, while also providing backing vocals.
Since 2021, Mike Kuster has released two full-length studio albums and one EP, with all compositions penned by himself. His debut album, “Better Late Than Never,” garnered widespread critical acclaim, earning accolades as an indispensable release of 2002. The single “Daddy’s Blue Jean Jacket” from this album was honored as the Independent Music Network’s (IMN) Country Song of the Year for 2021. Kuster was further recognized as IMN’s Country Impact Artist of the Year in 2022 and Favorite Male Country Artist in 2023.
Kuster’s EP, “Mountain Monsters of Maryland,” pays homage to the folklore and legends of Frederick County, coinciding with its 275th Jubilee in 2023. This release, strategically timed for both the Jubilee and Halloween festivities, garnered considerable acclaim, notably earning attention as a standout Halloween-themed country album. The EP has been nominated as a finalist for Best Country/Americana Album at the 36th Annual Wammie Music Awards, celebrating excellence in the Washington Area Music scene.
Accompanied by his live ensemble, The Catoctin Cowboys, Mike Kuster embarks on a tour of the Mid-Atlantic region with their engaging “Honky Tonkin’ Good Time Show.” From intimate backyard gatherings to larger venues hosting audiences exceeding 2,000, each performance showcases a blend of Kuster’s original compositions and timeless classics from the annals of traditional Country music.
Kuster and his high school sweetheart turned wife of twenty-five years, Emily live in the picturesque small town of Walkersville, Maryland. They have three children who live with them in their slice of heaven in small-town America.
