Bio/Tour:
“Nique-O” was born on July 22nd, 1991 in the MECCA of hip hop, New York. Growing up in Queens, his childhood was not what youd expect for your average young boy. On the 18th day of July 1994, him and his family were involved in a major car accident. Luckily, there were no other serious injuries. However, Nique-O was on the receiving end of something life threatening. Dying on the hospital table at only 3 years old he was described as a miracle baby as he came back to the world and would soon surprise everybody with a remarkable recovery.
He was always into music since the young ages of just 4 and 5, it was for sure no shock when he picked up the pen and wrote his first rap at around 13. His family though they supported him and his career, had no idea just how far he would take his dream, but he did.
Wasting no time, Nique-O jumped on to the scene and let his presence known. Night after night in his basement studio on Long Island where he was living at the time, he would record hundreds of songs. These songs would then go onto countless mixtapes which Nique-O distributed himself. Even being a tiny fish in the middle of the ocean, he just seemed to have that something people couldnt live without.
In 2010, he moved down south to the Jacksonville area of Florida. The music scene was very different from what he grew up on but adapting was a piece of cake. Keeping true to himself, he released 3 CDs within his first year in the dirty south. When he brought his unique style and new york flow to the stage, people LOVED him! He became a crowd favorite quite fast catching the attention and later collaborating with local artists and djs such as DJ GIT, Wapp Daddy, Mr. Coolbeans, DJ Los and others.
Nique-O linked up with record producer Tony Rose in 2011, taking the world by storm. Rose comes from the legendary Boston music scene and along with producer Maurice Starr, created internationally famous blockbusters such as Prince Charles and The City Beat Band, The Jonzun Crew, New Edition, and New Kids On The Block. Needless to say, Tony Rose has spent his fair share of time in the music industry and knows talent when he sees it. Seeing something special in him, Rose took Nique-O under his wing and they both got straight to work. Releasing an album in July 2011, the public saw Nique-O as a young, fresh new artist that was living the dream. Being in such a dark place and fighting personal demons unbeknownst to the fans, Nique-O decided to part ways with Rose following an album release party in New York City.
Relocating back to New York in 2012, he came out of left field putting out a mixtape titled Out The Cage under Thug-a-cation and HonorB4Money, labels run by Brooklyn rapper, Papoose. The mixtape was to build anticipation for Nique-Os upcoming studio album Face Value, which was suppose to be released later that year, or early 2013. Aired and promoted on Shade45 by Nique and Pap themselves, the hot new mixtape was making some noise in the streets. With hosting by DJ KAY SLAY, an aggressively lyrical nasty new york flow, and features by Prodigy, Joe Budden, Royce Da 59, Remy Ma and more, Nique-O really left no room for hate. In the midst of taking flight on his journey to the top, he hit some turbulence.
The rapper left alot things unfinished and questions unanswered, but in his own words he had to step away from it all for a little and do some real soul searching. After years of being out of the public eye Nique-O shocked the world establishing his own label, World Class Records and in mid 2016 he signed himself as well as his production and publishing companies. A true go-getter indeed Nique continues to deliver the hits AND is his own business man. Nothing can stop him now!
